The most recent bombing in Colombo was all of 200 meters from some of my friends' offices. Meanwhile, several other colleagues are in Colombo for a conference at the moment.
These are the some of the same folks who wrote Sahana for disaster management. Grrr.

Yeah, it's terrible. I live in Colombo and seeing the militants (on both sides) destroying this beautiful country makes me so sad. I think decent people on both sides need to speak out. "We've had enough!". But now it looks really bad.
Indeed
Yeah. There is a lot of discussion about this here in Iceland and propably we will send a lot more peace keepers there. I think that after Denmark and Finland pulled out that there are only about 50 Icelandic/Norwegan peace keepers there.
There are still Swedes left, but they are also moving out, since the tigers don't want any EU monitors there. We hang out with the monitors sometimes and they do a fine job, but it's hard when there is no ceasefire to monitor. The Swedish general in charge of SLMM (Sri Lanka monitoring Mission) hinted the other day that all monitors might pull out soon. Yesterday the goverment bombed a orphanage and killed 60 young girls. There will be a bloody response. "An eye for an eye until the whole workd is blind".
